and the Prowler will remain as the "newest" Plymouth models available for purchase .

Viva Plymouth is dedicated to preserving and restoring the Plymouth Automobile.

In 2001 DaimlerChrysler made a decision to end production of the Plymouth, a car that had helped Chrysler Corporation stay afloat many times in its history.

In 1959 there were 29 models of Plymouth available.  Included were the following lines:
Sport Fury...V8 Convertible and V8 2 door hardtop
Fury...V8 4 door hardtop, V8 2 door hardtop and V8 4 door sedan
Belvedere...V8 Convertible, 4 dr. hdtp. V8 or 6, 2dr. hdtp. V8 or 6, 4 dr. sed. V8 or 6, and 2 dr. sed. V8 or 6
Savoy...4 door sedan V8 or 6, 2 door sedan V8 or 6, and  Business Coupe 6
Station Wagons...Sport Suburban V8 4 dr. 6 or 9 pass.,  Custom Suburban 4 dr. 6 pass. V8 or 6,  9 pass. V8 only
Custom Suburban V8 2 dr. 6 pass., Deluxe Suburban 4 dr. 6 pass. V8 or 6,  Deluxe Suburban.

In 2001 that number was reduced to 2 models.  The Prowler and the Neon.  True to their word, DaimlerChrysler stopped producing the popular Plymouth in 2002.

Plymouth Cars United, now called Viva Plymouth, began on Saturday, June 29, 2001 and was incorporated as Plymouth Cars United, a non-profit Corporation in 2003.  Plymouth Cars began as a Membership organization but due to the bad economy in the State of Michigan the Corporation changed over to a non-membership organization hense Plymouth Cars of Detroit. Either way, Viva Plymouth!
